"I have not failed, I've just found 10,000 ways that won't work."--Thomas Edison

We live in chaos. Chaos theory says there are patterns to all random states of disorder. We keep to a schedule to circumvent that randomness. We also develop physical and mental mechanisms that get utilized to deal with emotional randomness. Though life can be chaotic, you can start to see the patterns we have to create order for our daily routine.
If your older, like I am, your defense mechanisms and daily schedules are sort of set in stone. If you're a younger individual, then you are more of a blank canvas. You have some developed, but they can be changed, or molded differently. Trial and error create order. You may have to change your schedule to accommodate different aspects of your life, or create or adjust your defense mechanisms.

Again, I have to tell you, life is chaotic. You may not make that appointment. You may not have had a conversation that went how you wanted it to go. Failure is not a sign of weakness. Failure is not a sign to give up. Failure is a part of the process for success. Failure gives you the knowledge to progress further than you have gotten.
The lesson you should learn from not meeting your expectations is to keep going. Push through your obstacles and overcome the hardships. I won't lie to you. It won't be easy. Setbacks do not determine whether or not you can do it, they determine how you should not do it, or rather there is another way to get it done.
"Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, and expecting the different results."--Albert Einstein
